California Statewide

Proposition 4: Bonds for Safe Drinking Water, Wildfire Prevention, and Protecting Communities and Natural Lands from Climate Risks. Proposition 4 will provide significant funding for trails and public parks in California. It also offers significant means to address the ongoing wildfire crisis in our state that threatens the quality of life of all Californians, including the trails and public lands where mountain bikers ride.

Alameda and Contra Costa Counties

East Bay Regional Park District (Ward 2): Casey Alyson Farmer supports increased trail stewardship and the multi-use pilot in Briones.

Alameda County

East Bay Regional Park District (Ward 4): Luana España. Luana España has been supportive of multi-use trails through her work with the Bay Area Ridge Trail and the EBRPD Park Advisory Committee. She will champion collaborative solutions that will benefit all trail users.

Alameda County Board of Supervisors District 5: John Bauters. CAMTB backs candidates who strongly support bicycles, active transportation, and outdoor recreation. We proudly endorse Bauters’s campaign for Alameda County Supervisor – District 5. John is an Emeryville City Council member, where he gained a national reputation for his policies. He is affectionately known as “America’s Bicycle Mayor” for his very visible work advancing equitable access for cyclists. Read more in our endorsement statement.

Sonoma County

Sonoma County Board of Supervisors (District 3): Chris Coursey is a cyclist with a track record of working with bike coalitions and trail stewardship organizations. He sailed to victory in the Spring Primaries with 72% of the vote. We’re excited that so many people agree with us and look forward to seeing Chris advance issues related to trails and access close to where people live in Sonoma County.

Placer County

Auburn City Council: Kelley Davis. Kelley Davis has a strong and longstanding track record as a mountain bike, trail, and urban cycling volunteer, organizer, and advocate. CAMTB looks forward to her continued growth as a leader on the Auburn City Council.

Santa Clara and Santa Cruz Counties

State Assembly (AD-28): Gail Pellerin. Assembly Member Pellerin has a record of working on Addressing Environmental Impacts and Climate Change and is a supporter of funding for trails, State Parks, and improving the policies for better access.

Santa Cruz County

Yes on Measure Q: The Water & Wildlife Protection Act. If passed in November, nonprofits and public agencies are eligible to apply for Measure Q funding for any trail development, maintenance, or improvement project within Santa Cruz County. This could be the critical seed money for groundbreaking on a new mountain bike trail or to handle deferred maintenance on popular existing trails.

Santa Barbara County

State Assembly (AD-37): Gregg Hart. Assembly Member Hart captured our attention in 2023 with the submission of Assembly Bill 1212, the Scenic Bikeways and Trails Act. While this bill did not advance to law, we were excited to see this kind of creative solution to improving bikeways and trails for all Californians. We look forward to more creative bills in 2024 by Asm. Hart.

Ventura County

State Assembly (AD-38): Steve Bennett. Assembly Member Bennett has a record as an environmental leader and a trail supporter. In this past session, he was the key player in getting increased funding and improved planning for natural surface trails.

Orange County

Laguna Beach City Council: Hallie Jones. Hallie Jones is a supporter of outdoor recreation in Laguna Beach.

San Diego County

San Diego Board of Supervisors: Nora Vargas (District 1), Joel Anderson (District 2), and Terra Lawson-Remer (District 3). All three of these supervisors have been supportive of trail and bike projects and cross-agency collaboration through their actions and funding.
