Become a Member

CAMTB is currently awaiting our permanent NonProfit Determination Letter, which will complete our formation, expected by late winter 2020.

Once that is complete we will be offering memberships, with a special “founding member” status to those who join in the first month. Watch for the announcements on our web site, email list, and social media.

Happy Friday! 😊

So many good things happening with our member organizations that we have another shout-out this week going to @santacruztrails!

Santa Cruz Trails are a nonprofit that builds and maintains great trails for everyone, and connects communities to nature through responsible outdoor recreation. Their big project is still the Cotoni-Coast Dairies trail system.

They also hosted a Dig Day earlier this month where they had 50 volunteers come out to support trail building efforts!👍

And lastly, their biggest donate-to-win giveaway is underway with @santacruzbicycles and @Julianabicycles...yes, they'll be 2 bikes and 2 bike winners! This giveaway ends on Weds, Oct 3rd at midnight!🚴

This week, our member spotlight goes to the @ocmtba Orange County Mountain Biking Association, their mission is to protect & expand trail access in Orange County, CA. 🤩

This weekend, they are hosting their @good_dirt_ride on Saturday, Sept. 30th! We hope you can join in on this epic ride!🚴

SB668 Approved!!✅

This is great news as Senate Bill 668 (Dodd), extends the ability of the @CAStateParks (i.e. Dept. of Parks & Recreation) to enter into agreements with nonprofits for the purpose of operating and maintaining park facilities, improving parks, and reducing their overhead.

State Legislation Update! AB 1150, the Parks, Recreation, and Vessels Omnibus achieved a major milestone this week as it cleared both the State Assembly and Senate. This important recreation-focused legislation is now moving on to the Governor's Office for final review. See our link.bio for more info and to submit your letter of support to Gov. Newsom today!

Member Organization Spotlight of the Week is @motherlodetrails, who just signed a Volunteer Service Agreement with the El Dorado National Forest! And they had their second volunteer trail maintenance day this past Saturday out at Fleming Meadows aka Trail 8. ⛏️

This has been something Mother Lode has been working for since early 2020 and we are so excited to see it happening. If you hike, run, ride horses or mountain bikes on this beautiful trail we hope you can join them in getting this trail back in the condition it once was prior to the Caldor Fire.

Want to get involved with trail work and trail advocacy? It's easier than you might think! 🤔

Here are a few steps you can take to make a difference:

- Identify and engage with your local trail organization (check our member link in bio)
- Sign up to volunteer at one of their trail maintenance events, monthly rides or attend a meeting
- Can't volunteer? A small donation also goes a long way to helping you local trail organization maintain trails in your neighborhood!
- Share your local trail organization's posts on social media to help them increase visibility and awareness
- Lead by example- leave no trace, ride respectfully, be nice and say hi!

A HUGE Congrats to @truckeedirtunion as they just inked their first volunteer service agreement with @castateparks last month to adopt and maintain the infamous JP's Trail and the lowest section of the Yogi Bear Trail. 🙌

This effort has come to fruition after a year of discussions with #CAMTB and @truckeedonnerlandtrust.
