BTCEB Summer Solstice Pop Up Ride at Joaquin Miller Park

The summer solstice is coming, and what better time to get together for an after work ride than the longest day of the year! Join us for a post-work rip through the redwoods of Joaquin Miller Park – one of the parks BTCEB helps maintain – on Friday, June 21st at 6pm.

We’ll climb up to the pump track and do some laps to warm up before descending a few JMP staples like Big Trees and Cinderella before heading back to the parking lot.

This will be a no drop ride, and depending on the number of riders we may split into a few groups based on pace. Be prepared to ride 10-12 miles (including ~1000ft of climbing) on hilly narrow singletrack for 2.5 hrs.

Join us for post-ride refreshments afterwards at Two Pitchers Brewing / Lovely’s near Grand Lake in Oakland, where there’s plenty of outdoor seating and bike parking.

Meet at:

We will gather at 6:00pm at the Elephant Barn parking lot and hit the trails promptly at 6:30pm.
The ELEPHANT BARN parking lot is within the JOAQUIN MILLER PARK on Sanborn Dr. Head up Joaquin Miller Rd to the park entrance and turn into the park on Sanborn Dr. Go just past the community center/ranger station lot and make a left into the larger parking lot, which is the Elephant Barn lot.

After the ride, we’ll pedal (or drive) towards downtown Oakland for food and beverages at Two Pitchers Brewing Co / Lovely’s where they have enclosed outdoor seating and bike parking.
