We’re seeking a Contract Digital Communications Specialist to amplify our advocacy and drive support for mountain biking across the Golden State.
The California Mountain Biking Coalition (CAMTB) is seeking a talented and passionate Contract Digital Communications Specialist! As the leading voice for outdoor advocacy in California, we are in search of a strategic storyteller to help us reach our fundraising goals and advocate for the trails, public lands, and cycling access we all cherish.
The Role: Strategic, Creative, and Impactful
This is a contract position (Form 1099) designed for a freelance professional who lives and breathes trail culture. You will be responsible for a wide range of digital deliverables, including:
- Social Media Coordination: Managing our Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn presence to increase engagement and follower growth.
- Content Strategy: Building a proactive content calendar (2-3 posts per week) that highlights our local, state, and federal advocacy efforts.
- Email Marketing: Crafting 2–3 monthly newsletters to grow our list and cultivate donor support.
- Visual Storytelling: Creating engaging Stories and Reels that capture the spirit of the California riding community.
Who You Are
The ideal candidate is an avid California-based mountain or gravel biker with 3–5+ years of experience crafting inspiring messaging for mission-driven companies or organizations. You have a proven track record of working with cycling or trail organizations and a deep understanding of digital marketing tools, especially Hootsuite, Monday.com, Canva, and basic experience with CRMs.
Contract Details
- Status: Independent Contractor (1099)
- Compensation: Flat monthly rate of $1,000–$1,500, depending on experience. Additional projects at a predetermined rate
- Commitment: Includes a 30-45 minute weekly stand-up with the Executive Director
- Location: 100% Remote
