Happy International Day of Monuments and Sites! 🌍 Today, we celebrate the rich history of cultural and natural heritage that enriches our world. At CAMTB, we believe in preserving not just the trails, but also the landscapes and landmarks that define our shared history.

President Biden is planning to expand the boundaries of two national monuments in California, the San Gabriel Mountains National Monument and the Berryessa Snow Mountain National Monument.

Legislation to enlarge these monuments has stalled in Congress, prompting Biden to use his executive authority under the 1906 Antiquities Act. This initiative aligns with Biden's goal of conserving 30 percent of America's lands and waters by 2030.

As we commemorate this day, let's also lend our support to ongoing national monument proposals. These initiatives are vital in safeguarding our most treasured sites for future generations to enjoy. 💫

Big news! The EXPLORE Act has passed the House of Representatives! 🏛️

This bipartisan legislation is a major step towards enhancing public land access and promoting outdoor recreation opportunities nationwide.

The EXPLORE Act aims to break down barriers for veterans, people with disabilities, and underserved communities, while also streamlining permitting processes for guides and outfitters. It's all about ensuring that everyone has the chance to enjoy the great outdoors!

As the bill advances, we're excited to see the positive impacts it will have on our communities, economy, and environment. Stay tuned for more updates as we work towards a brighter, more accessible outdoor future for all! 🌎

This week, our Member Spotlight goes to @bicycletrailscouncil - BTCEB. 🤩

Their BoD members, which include several high schoolers, have made a commitment to speaking up for trail access and better policies for mountain bikers! Congrats James Jordan, Max Wilson Sladkus, and Niko Ditmar for stepping up!

James and Max are active with BTCEB's advocacy efforts with sierraclub and Max has also done work with @access4bikes! A huge well done to this incredible group of high schoolers, they are the future of trail advocacy and we love hering about their efforts in helping to maintain our beloved trails. 🚵‍♀️

June 2024 is #CAMTBMonth!! 🚵‍♀️

We are thrilled to announce the recent introduction of Assembly Concurrent Resolution 152 by @asmdamonconnolly and @senbrianjones, a bill CAMTB drafted and championed. It will designate June 2024 as "California Mountain Biking Month"! 📝

This resolution recognizes the deep roots mountain biking has in California as the birthplace of the sport, and highlights the numerous benefits mountain biking provides to Californians and communities across the state.

CAMTB encourages mountain bikers and cycling enthusiasts across the state to get some trail time in, support your local trail stewardship organization, and join in the celebrations and festivities for #CAMTBmonth throughout June 2024.🌳
