Calling All Mountain Bikers – CAMTB Voter Guide is In the Works
It’s Time to Get Ready for the Midterms!
The 2026 Primaries are in the rearview mirror, and the November Midterms are fast approaching. As we gear up for November, we are excited to announce the development of the 2026 CAMTB Voter Guide.
Before we dive into the issues, take two minutes right now to check your voter registration status. Even if you vote in every election, it never hurts to double-check that your information is completely up to date. You can verify your status instantly using the My Voter Status tool on the California Secretary of State’s website. And while you are there, it’s a great time to find out exactly who is on your ballot so you can start researching the candidates in your local, state, and federal districts.
CAMTB… Is Political. Is Not Partisan.
Similar to the 2024 election cycle, the California Mountain Biking Coalition (CAMTB) has developed a recreation- and open-space-focused candidate questionnaire. Consequently, this questionnaire gives candidates the opportunity to express to us—the voters—how they intend to prioritize cycling, trails, and open space in California if elected.
For those of you who are not aware, our founders established CAMTB as a 501(c)(4) organization with a clear intention. Specifically, we leverage the voice of the cycling and trails community to elect and re-elect candidates who prioritize natural, cultural, and recreational resources.
While we remain strictly nonpartisan, CAMTB is most certainly political. Therefore, we want to help elect pro-recreation leaders so that we can advance policies and regulations that support more and better trails.
Ultimately, investment in trails, parks, open space, and recreation is imperative. Because of this, CAMTB actively supports initiatives that preserve and protect the places we love to ride, alongside the trails that connect us to them. Moreover, we need leaders at all levels of government who share this belief and enthusiastically commit to making it a reality.
Building the 2026 CAMTB Voter Guide
Based on the responses to our questionnaire, CAMTB will once again produce a Recreation Voter Guide. This guide is designed to highlight candidates who share our vision for more and better trails, and who value recreation resources alongside the other gems of California, our natural and cultural resources. Our voter guide is intended to help you make informed decisions at the ballot box.
