Crankbrothers Dream Bike Hand Off
This week CAMTB, Orange County Mountain Bike Association, and the crew at Crankbrothers handed off the dream bike to its new owner, Bill Chin of Orange County. Bill met John Terberg, CAMTB Board Member, David Browning and Kurt Weimann of OCMTBA, and Sebastien Salvant from Crankbrothers at Crankbrothers HQ in Laguna Beach for the big reveal.
Bill learned about the bike giveaway while attending Sea Otter Classic in Monterey where the bike was initially premiered. He wasted no time making a donation to CAMTB to support state and local trail advocacy efforts, and he was rewarded handsomely with the custom Commencal T.E.M.P.O. featuring a chaparral-inspired paint job and choice components from Crankbrothers, Industry 9, SRAM, Cane Creek, Fizik, Hayes, Pro Taper, SRAM, and Continental.
In total, the campaign raised nearly $40,000 to support CAMTB and its local partners’ advocacy efforts in the state, including:
- Advancing land manager partnership and policy initiatives with the USFS and CA State Parks
- Tracking and Influencing Legislation related to mountain biking, trails, access, and public lands.
- Funding Local Trail Stewardship Programs
- Engaging the next-generation advocates via CAMTB’s freshly-minted Teen Ambassador Program
Thanks to all who supported the campaign for more and better bike-friendly trails in California.
