California Mountain Biking Month Pledge
June is California Mountain Biking Month! Join us in celebrating this incredible recreational activity by taking our Pledge. This pledge was created by the California Mountain Biking Coalition (CAMTB) to celebrate the introduction of Assembly Concurrent Resolution 152, which designates June 2024 as “California Mountain Biking Month.”
CAMTB worked closely with Assemblymember Damon Connolly (D-San Rafael) and Senate Minority Leader Brian Jones (R-San Diego) to introduce this resolution, which recognizes mountain biking’s deep roots in California, its numerous health and economic benefits, and the incredible volunteer efforts of the mountain biking community to maintain our trail networks. We’re thrilled to see the California Legislature formally acknowledge the importance of mountain biking in our state.
The #CAMTBMonth Pledge
Take the pledge… ride, volunteer, and speak up in support of cycling, trails, and public lands.
In support of trails, cycling, and public lands, I pledge to:
1. Ride! Go for at least one mountain bike ride during June 2024. Getting out on the trails is what this month is all about! Embrace the mental and physical health benefits of mountain biking, but be sure to ride responsibly – stay on designated trails, respect other trail users, and leave no trace. Even better, ride a trail new to you! California has a lot to offer.
2. Take A Friend Mountain Biking. Introduce someone new to the joys of riding in the great outdoors, or get an old friend back on their bike. Grow the mountain biking community in California and share the love.
3. Engage My Local Trail Stewardship Organization. Join, donate, or volunteer to support the groups maintaining the trails you ride. These unsung heroes’ efforts make it possible for us to enjoy the trails and keep on riding. Find your local organization here.
4. Speak Up for Mountain Biking, Trails, and Public Lands. Call or write your local, state, and/or federal representatives and request support for pro-mountain biking legislation and policies.
By taking this pledge, I’m demonstrating my love of mountain biking and off-road cycling, my commitment to the mountain biking community, and want to help celebrate California’s rich mountain biking history and bright future.
